Talking History – Hailsham Pavilion

Alongside Hailsham Pavilion I am now arranging a series of talk. Bi-monthly to start. All the speakers will be experts in their fields and the venue is the excellent Hailsham Pavilion – The first presentation is on Thursday 17th March 2026 at 7.30 when Michael Smith will be presenting ‘Shackleton, The man, The Myths and the Sussex Connection’ Michael is an authority on Polar Exploration and his books have sold over 300k worldwide and he is an award winning journalist.

Railway Tunnels of Sussex and Beyond – Adrian Backshall with many stunning visual images of tunnels and more. Adrian lives in Eastbourne and even has his own length of track and a moving carriage in his garden ! MAY 12th 7.30pm

The Crumbles Murders – Renowned local speaker Kevin Gordon delves into the two local murders which shocked Eastbourne and the country. he has just published the book Eastbourne Murders and Misdemeanours

Death By Chocolate – some Victorian female poisoners in Sussex. Christina Edmunds ‘The chocolate cream killer’, Mary Gearing, Sarah French and more – by Robert Slater, local author, ghost walk guide, curator of Pevensey Court House Museum and founder of Pevensey History Festival
